Bikinis are killer?
I'm a UB student living in Syracuse for the summer, and I have a terrible craving for Cait's Plate (as served at Amy's Place). Does anyone know of a recipe that's similar to that? I would love to be able to make something that would hold me over until I can visit Buffalo again. Thanks!

ughgughghguhghg my favorite!

Take a can of lentils, and mix it with a little hot sauce, chopped onion and looooots of garlic and some fresh tomato. Cook 'em in a pot until they get kind of "congealed" and mushy lookin'. Chop up some spinach and add it into the mix. Toast some flat bread of a pita and jam it all in there. It's not exactly the same, obviously, but it definately does the trick. You can use the same mix (sans spinach) to make veggie wet shoes too! Mmm! I think the "sauce" stuff that's on the Caits (or house dressing.. whatever it is) is just a little bit of basalmic vinegar and olive oil.

(this part is void if you're from the area and are not interested in eating anything but a Caits. Ha!)

Also, if you're from the 'cuse than you know about Syrajuice already. I can never remember if they close during the summer or not, but it's definately worth looking up and calling to check. Get the vegan chicken caesar wrap, or the 70's veggie. They make ammmaaazing homemade tortilla chips and salsa.

Awesome! That helped a lot!

Believe it or not, I've never been to Syrajuice before. I've eaten plenty of their delicious food via friends who have brought it home, but I've yet to venture there myself. I know I'm missing out, so I'll definitely be calling them up soon. I'll have to check out China Road, too. I've lived in Syracuse my entire life but have just recently started exploring it on my own, so learning about all of these places is exciting.
